senior persons randomly going off and starting their own thing.
THIS.
Meredith: I have such mixed mind about how she ruled because she remains such an enigma throughout much of DA2. Clearly the whole city gossiped about her. Clearly she took every step possible to create a military dictatorship. Clearly she developed serious paranoia. Yet, she remains reclusive. Early in Act II Cullen makes a comment about Meredith withdrawing (cannot remember his exact words).
DAO-vs-DA2. I don't know if you read my brief write up about romances in DA2. My canon Hawke romanced NO ONE and by act three she was very glad to have made that decision. Anders was obviously a dysfunctional time bomb (and I have no idea that he would blow up the chantry). Every time he hit on my canon Hawke, she pushed him away. In contrast, all of the romances and friendships in DAO felt far more natural in their evolution and despite the characters' troubled backgrounds, they weren't hardcore dysfunctional in the way that Anders, Fenris, and Merril are.
